"If you extend your hand to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul,
then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be
as noonday.
The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought,
and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like
a spring of water, whose waters do not fail."

Isaiah 58:10-11

Our Location

Background

The Ontario Christian Gleaners organization was inspired by a trip in the summer of 2003 to the Okanagan Gleaners in BC, where several Christians felt the calling to start a similar operation in Ontario. The following January the Ontario Christian Gleaners was founded by those Christians, as well as others who also felt called to serve the LORD through good stewardship. Indeed, in a province of great abundance God calls us to be good stewards of all that He has given us. Through continual prayer we ask God to lead and guide us in this endeavor.

Late in the summer of 2004, the Ontario Christian Gleaners organization was officially incorporated. Soon after our incorporation we started the process of becoming legally registered as a charitable organization in hopes of being able to issue tax receipts to those who contributed financially in 2004.

As of December 2004, the LORD blessed us with our charitable status. Tax receipts will be sent out annually for all donations that are $10 or more.

Construction on our operations facility began in Spring 2007 and was completed in Summer 2008. We commenced our operations in Autumn 2008, grateful to the LORD for bringing us to that point! We are also grateful for all those who donated and/or continue to donate their time, talents, and finances.

Products

We ask that farmers and food processing companies please donate any excess or blemished produce. Vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, beans, and brussel sprouts will be cleaned, diced, and dehydrated.
Once dry, the vegetables are combined into a nutritious soup mix. We also greatly appreciate donated products such as lentils and pot-barley, since they add necessary protein to our soup mix.

Distribution

The Ontario Christian Gleaners donates soup mix and other food products to reputable, well established relief organizations. Great care is taken to ensure the product is properly distributed to those in need.
